Parts
Belts
The one thing I can nearly always supply. I hold stock for common Eumig, Elmo and Bell & Howell machines and can make a belt to a measurement for most others. If you want to fit it yourself, send me the model number and the old belt if you still have it — £9 to £16 plus postage, and I'll include a note on getting the drive back together in the right order.
Lamps
Still available for most Super 8 and 16mm machines, though prices have climbed and a few types have gone. I don't hold much stock because they're fragile; I order them in per job.
What I make
Small gears, claws, pressure plates, occasionally a spindle. Brass and steel, on a lathe from 1971 that has outlived several of its owners. Making a part costs more than the projector is worth in most cases, which is why I always ask before starting.
What's gone
| Some Pathé 9.5mm parts | Not made since the fifties, and the donor machines are gone too |
| Certain Sankyo electronics | Proprietary boards. When they fail, that's usually that |
| Original lenses for some Chinon models | Substitutes exist but need adapting |
Donor machines
I buy dead projectors for parts, always. If you have one that's beyond saving, I'll take it off you and pay the postage. Half of what keeps this workshop going came in as somebody's scrap.
