Who I am

Quasar Reels is Ray Bramall, sole trader, Workshop 4, Sidney Works, Sidney Street, Sheffield S1 4RH. workshop@quasarreels.com, 0114 270 5518. Trading below the threshold, so no VAT is charged.

Assessment and quotes

£35 to assess, deducted if the repair goes ahead. Nothing is done beyond assessment without your agreement. If the work turns out to need more than quoted, I stop and ring.

Your machine

It stays yours. I photograph it on arrival and send you the photographs. Parts removed and replaced are returned with the machine unless you tell me not to bother.

Risk

These machines are between forty and seventy years old and some parts fail during dismantling however careful you are. Where that happens I'll tell you, and where it's my error I'll put it right at my cost. I carry insurance for loss or damage while the machine is here.

Film

Please don't send film with the machine. If film arrives threaded, I remove and bag it, but I can't be responsible for damage that happened before it reached me.

Uncollected work

Finished machines are kept six months. After that I write to the address on file, and if there's no answer within a further month I dispose of or retain the machine against the unpaid bill. In twenty-eight years this has happened four times.

Guarantee

Twelve months on the work and on parts I've fitted. It doesn't cover the rest of the machine, which is old and will eventually need something else.
